We have a new procedure for opening and closing the umpire shack. If you are the first ump to arrive, you can sign out a key from the snack shack. Please leave the key on the nail right inside. The last umpire to return his gear should lock up - this means both the deadbolt and the door lock. If the windows are open, please return the covers. Then return the key to the snack shack. The umpire shack needs to be locked up - we have a lot of gear there that would be expensive to replace.
Please - keep your umpire shack clean and tidy. That means shirts go back on the hangers, brushes, counters and masks go back in their boxes. The way we leave this reflects directly on all of us, and I want to leave a positive impression. Remember - others use this as a scorer's box.
Snack Shack: Remember - umps get a water before a game, and 1 menu item and either a soda, juice or water after the game. There have been a few complaints from the Snack Shack that some umps have been pushing the boundaries on this. Please don't put the volunteers there in a tough position.
